CODE OF ETHICS
The Code of Ethics defines and guides the conduct for POWERCHINA to be recognized in Brazil and globally as an ethical company.
All employees must know and act in accordance with the Code of Ethics, actively practicing its concepts, principles and rules.
POWERCHINA also expects its partners and suppliers to know its Code of Ethics and commit to the same values and principles.
All employees must undertake to strictly comply with applicable laws where POWERCHINA does business and to uphold the Company’s high ethical standards. No employee should compromise the Company’s ethical principles and regulations, nor go against ethical principles to achieve any objective.
Employees must treat customers, suppliers, contractors, other business partners and competitors fairly and equally. Competitive advantages must not be sought through illegal operations, corruption, concealment, abuse of privileged information, misrepresentation of material facts or other improper conduct.
The company recognizes that the Code of Ethics, integrity requirements and work policies and procedures may not cover every situation that may arise, but the core values apply in any context.
When facing a difficult decision, the employee should ask himself:
- Am I following the law?
- Am I following POWERCHINA’s and workplace integrity and ethical policies and procedures?
- Am I complying with the Code of Ethics, integrity requirements and specific POWERCHINA policies and procedures?
- Am I harming my reputation or that of POWERCHINA?
- Have I practiced POWERCHINA’s core values of responsibility, innovation, integrity and win-win?
To reinforce the commitment to its values and principles, POWERCHINA provides an Ethics Channel to receive reports of facts or conduct that violate current legislation or ethical principles. Reports are received by an independent company to ensure security and confidentiality.
